Tiracol Fort (Terekhol fort)

Terekhol Fort or Tiracol Fort is situated at the mouth of the Tiracol River which is location of the north Goa. Actually, this fort was built by King of the Sawantwadi in 17th centaury. Portuguese ruler got this fort in 1746 by defeated Raja of Sawantwadi. The Portuguese ruler used 12 guns to safe this fort from invaders of the Marathas and Muslims. The fort also has a small church of St. Anthony. Generally, this church does not open to general public but open on its yearly fest which come in May month. Now, this fort converted to heritage hotel. This heritage fort hotel has luxury suites with double bed and deluxe rooms. It has total seven rooms and suits which has super luxury facilities. It provides portuguese colony feeling with luxury style.
